May One Try on a New Garment that May Contain Shatnez?

Dear Fellow Jew,
When purchasing a garment that contains shatnez, may one try on the garment before the shatnez is removed?

In the Adar Beis/March issue of The Kuntris (a relatively new Torah monthly), they had an article from Vaad L’Mishmeres Shatnez regarding this very important question.

Please find the article attached below.

This article seems to be talking about the case where the garment certainly contains shatnez. I didn’t know it was possible to always remove shatnez from garments — such a purchase seems unwise, if you know it is indeed shatnez, since it might be unfixable.

The title of this article indicated a much more common question: “this garment MIGHT contain shatnez, may I try it on before buying it and bringing it to be checked for shatnez?” however that safeik doesn’t seem to be the point of the linked article.
