Not too long ago, JKN posted an update from the Chief Rabbinate of Israel’s Kashrus Enforcement Unit citing the Basher cheese store in Machane Yehuda was selling some cheeses as kosher when in fact, this is not the case.

Due to the efforts of Aaron Gunsberger, Rabbinic Kashrus Coordinator of the Orthodox Council of Kashrus Mahara”L JKN has learned the cheese appearing in the photo, marked as kosher, in actually not supervised by the agency shown on the label.

JKN also received an email via Gunsberger from Rabbi Yehoudah Alloun, who states unequivocally that “this product is not my kosher certification and is not kosher. I never produced this cheese”.

Buyer beware!

I don`t claim that its KOSHER! but its interesting that the HECHSHER states that R` Moisheh alloun is the SUPERVISOR & the letter is from R` Yehudah alloun,

This is clearly no good. I was in Czech Republic and there is no cholev Yisroel production of any kind let alone cheese.

While it may not be certified kosher there is nothing in your article suggesting that it is treif mamish like your headline suggests. Is it certified treif or just not certified kosher?
