Super Ohf – Kiryat Gat

17 Teves 5774

December 20, 2013

The following information is translated from the Chief Rabbinate of Israel Kashrus Enforcement Unit Bulletin No. 6 dated 16 Teves 5774/December 19, 2013 .
During an inspection of the Super Ohf butcher store in Kiryat Gat, unidentified meat originating in the PA (Palestinian Authority), suspected of being non-kosher was found on premises. The Kiryat Gat Rabbinate removed the kosher supervision on the store.

The meat was turned over to the Ministry of Agriculture to address since it lacked the necessary health certificates.

The photo displayed with the article was taken after the hashgacha was removed, and the sign shows the store continues to advertise the meat as kosher. On some of the merchandise being sold the owner affixed tags stating the meat is under the supervision of the Jerusalem Rabbinate. The Jerusalem Rabbinate confirms the claim is fraudulent.
