Olive Oil & Techina Alert
The Zaitoona Company, located in the Nachal I’ron (Wada Ara) area is selling olive oil and Techina marked “kosher under the Chief Rabbinate of Israel National Kashrus” on the label. In actuality, the company does not have kashrus and the claim is simply bogus.

The rabbinate does give a hechsher to the Zaitana Company and to avoid confusion, a hologram will be affixed to the legitimate product in coming days to avoid confusion.

Regarding the Rental of Equipment & Dishes
The Chief Rabbinate reminds agencies giving a hechsher on catered events that two sets of flatware must be provided to accommodate meat and fish dishes since realities of such events do not permit washing flatware between courses.

Mashgichim are requested to enforce this regulation to accommodate menus offering a fish appetizer followed by a meat meal. This applies to restaurants and catering facilities alike.

Badatz N’vei Tzion
Cow brains imported by the ‘Eshpar Basar’ Company with labels of approval from the Chief Rabbinate’s import division have conflicting information, stating “koshered” and “not-koshered” as per the previous Chief Rabbinate alert. Those who used the product do not have to kasher their vessels.

Most of the cow brains imported with Chief Rabbinate approval are not koshered, hence the need for the explanation in this case. This product was koshered as per the badatz agency.
