The weekly BaKehilla reports that rabbonim affiliated with the Eida Chareidit Shatnez lab have been warming of a sharp increase in the presence of shatnez in imported garments, urging the tzibur to have items checked.
Last week it was learned that a women’s vest contains shatnez, an item distributed by a large chain in Israel. The Eida approached the company to remove the shatnez garment from its stores. The chain refused to comply. (The name of the company is not released in the report).
The Eida once again urges the public to have garments checked.
