I reported on July 6, 2010 that the store, located at the corner of Machane Yehuda and Agrippas Streets, lost its hechsher from Badatz Machzikei Hadas, Belz. It has since lost its other mehadrin hechsher, Badatz Beit Yosef.
I remind you that I reported many times that the hechsherim only covered the nuts, seeds and dried fruits, NOT the candies, but it now appears that he has enlarged the candy section to over half the store and according to the Badatz agencies, “he is selling too many problematic items” compelling the decision to pull the hechsherim.
The store remains with a hechsher from the Jerusalem Rabbinate non-mehadrin, which also states it only covers the nuts, seeds and dried fruits.
In short, if you are buying candy here, you are buying from a store without a hechsher!
