On June 1st, I reported that the name on the sign of the Buchari Bakery (123 Jaffa Street, Jerusalem) did not match the name on the Jerusalem Rabbinate Mehadrin kosher certificate, which reads “Abdani Bakery).
This is a violation of the basic guidelines regarding a valid certificate, as per the Rabbinate. I spoke with the mashgiach, Rabbi Chaim Gamliel, who promised to have a new certificate issued immediately, thanking me for pointing out the infraction.
I checked today, Tuesday, at about 5PM and the situation remains unchanged.
Perhaps you would like to telephone Rabbi Chaim Gamliel and ask when he will have a new valid Jerusalem Rabbinate Mehadrin sign put in the store since a sloppy hechsher is not appreciated by the tzibur (public).
Rabbi Gamliel’s cellular telephone number is 052-426-8059.

Hi! Thanks for putting in the phone numbers:
1) I called and spoke to the Beit Yosef re: the bags at Chiffon (Phyllis Bakery – Machane Yehuda – 81 Eitz Chaim St) and he was VERY pleased and grateful that I let him know that the bags hadn’t been changed yet and he’d contact the people.
2] Re: the Buchari Bakery on Jaffa St.: I spoke with Rav Gamliel on Tuesday and he said he will tell the Mashgiach right away.
Thanks for the phone number and letting me “help” you. I just wanted to let you know that when the phone number appears I do/ will, blee neder, call. Be well, and thank you.
