It is forbidden to put a garment with shatnez on a minor (under bar/bas mitzvah age) or even cover an infant with a blanket containing shatnez. [Malbushei Yesha 1:7]
Since there have been numerous instances of shatnez in children’s clothing, it is of utmost importance to check all infants and children’s clothing which contain wool or linen.
