26 Sivan 5770
June 8, 2010
Admittedly, this year has been accompanied by many last-minute cancelations but I remain committed and the shuk tours are underway for the 5770 summer season.
Participants today, as in the past, were somewhat surprised by what they saw, realizing it is all there in front of our eyes but for some reason, we simply don’t see what we would prefer not seeing/knowing.
On another kashrus related topic, I hope that regarding recent emails requesting that you call kashrut agencies that you will take time to do so. The organizations are very sensitive to public opinion, since in kashrus, ‘reputation’ counts big time! We can and have already implemented change, but much work awaits us.
Remember the Agudat Yisrael sign in the shuk – one day of phone calls and the sign was down. Yes, the folks in the office were annoyed, but my three previous calls were ignored – met with promises that were never carried out.
Anyway, the calls for speaking engagements are also increasing, and this pleases me since there is a growing awareness and a desire to listen and learn. While on that topic, I am acquiring a projector so now, I can also offer my presentation to you even if you do not have a projector, which was a requirement in the past. Baruch Hashem, this opens many news doors towards getting the word out to the public.
For me, each day brings new information to share with audiences and readers, and with Hashem’s assistance, I will continue doing just that.
Sorry folks, but no additional Machane Yehuda Shuk tours planned for June. If you are coming from abroad and wish a walking tour for your family/group, may I suggest that you book ahead by emailing me. I will commit to one if there are a sufficient number of participants, ten or more.
The next walkthrough of the shuk will most likely be in July. Please monitor the website, Facebook page and/or email list for details.
