(From Rabbi Y. Dov Krakowski, OU Rabbinical Field Representative Israel) As I have been asked by many many people many times regarding the Kashrus of Fleisch Chickens, I am making the following statement:
“I have of late reviewed personally the Shechita, bedikos, Hachsharah, and packaging o…f the chickens (and Turkeys) a few times and I have found them to be Mehadrin (Glatt) by all standards. I am personally buying and eating Fleisch poultry”.

i dont believe this to be true, does he eat rubin or fleisch
Translation of Hebrew comment from R’ Semelman: With humility and without any provocative intentions, I would like to highlight the following question. In the case of an avreich who comes from New York City; one who ate this hechsher in the United States until last week. I have no problem. I have been convinced as I have always indicated. But’ Torat Chutz L’Aretz (Diaspora) is not the same as Torat Eretz Yisrael’. The question is if Israelis who adhere to the mehadrin standard or Americans who have accepted the stringencies of Israel upon themselves; does this schita adhere to the criteria of the Mehudar (premier) Ashkenazi Badatz agencies of Eretz Yisrael or does it adhere to the prominent batei din (Rabbinical Court) in Chutz L’Aretz. In other words, are there differences in the halachic focus regarding the schita?
Rabbi Krakowski;
Please enlighten us further. It is known that mashgichim do not necessarily use the same standards as the hashgachos they work for. A mashgiach for Rabbanut Yerusalayim merely certifies that under his watch all products are on par with R.Y. standards; he himself might eat only Eida Chareidis certified products. The question then, is not what you yourself eat, but what are the standards, and just as important, the level of practical implementation of these standards, at Fleish. I assume this query carries over by extension to all OU meat restaurants as well.
Therefore:
A] Is Fleish on par with Rubin certified meat?
B] ….Landau ?
C] …..Eida Chareidis ?
D]….Shearis Yisrael?
[In both categories, standards and implementation]
D] Is this your personal “hergesh” as an OU man, or do you feel that the evidence is clear enough that any impartial outsider, such as Rav Y. Berkovits, Rav N. Eisenstein, Rav M. Kuber etc… would agree with you?
Thank you
FROM A READER: I think you should have included a disclaimer that the OU wrote the statement and they wanted this posted
By not pointing that out it reads as an implied support for their claim.
