Pe’er Naftali – Another Unauthorized Certificate

Pe'er Naftali Ishur Kashrut

Pe'er Naftali Ishur Kashrut

Not too long after losing its case against the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, Sami Mizrachi who brought us the unauthorized kashrut certificates under the names Keter Kashrut, Tiferet Kashrut and Kisei Eliyahu has now come out with a new edition making its way around Jerusalem, not a “hechsher” but a “Ishur Hashgacha L’Mehadrin”, changing the wording in another effort to circumvent the law. This new endeavor is called Pe’er Naftali, and the photos states;
1. Beit Yosef glatt mehadrin meat approved by the Chief Rabbinate.
2. Poultry is either Rabbi Verner (Hadera) or Rabbi Aurbach (Tiberias)
3. French fries and onion rings are Badatz Eida Chareidit.
4. Pickles and olives are Badatz Eida Chareidit.
5. Pitot are Eida Chareidit.
6. All greens are the bug/insect-free brand and all tithes have been set aside.
7. Cooking is bishul yisrael even according to the stricter dictates of Beit Yosef for Sephardim.
8. Chick peas used for falafel balls are Eida Chareidit. They are fried separately.
9. Drinks as per the labels appearing on each item.

Yes, it paints a great kashrut picture but it is not worth more than the paper it is printed on if there is no mashgiach present to confirm the claims made.

In addition, checked with Badatz Eida Chareidit and they state they have no working relationship with this organization and they have never heard of Pe’er Naftali.

    Thanks for posting this as I was in the city centre today and noticed this ‘hechshar’ in couple of restaurants which all had regular Rabbanut and wondered to its validity.

    I also noticed another similar one called ‘Sahar Mizrachi’. Is this one from the same guy as ‘Pe’er Naftali’? If I get a chance I’ll try and get a photo.

    From my limited look at Emek and the city centre I only noticed a few unapproved/unknown teudot in city centre and none so far in Emek, so the situation seems to be getting better. Hopefully this new one wont take hold…
