PAM Cooking Spray
For those of you who purchase PAM cooking spray, be aware that there is now a new flavor available in Eretz Yisrael, called ‘butter flavored’.
It is OU-D (as in dairy) and it does not have the hechsher of the Chug Chatam Sofer Petach Tikvah as the original one (olive oil) flavor does.
The small small print says that the item is only suitable for those who use ‘nochri’ (non-chalav yisrael milk powder).

Badatz Beit Yosef – Gelatin
My article generated an enormous volume of email. I am doing my best to respond in a timely fashion. Several of you asked regarding the use of gelatin from non-kosher animals. I checked with the rabbinical administrator of Badatz Beit Yosef, Rabbi Yigal Ben-Ezra, who informed me that they do not even use gelatin derived from a kosher animals, only from non-animal sources including fish.

Magen Bakery (Ohr Yehuda)
Badatz Beit Yosef has removed its hechsher from the bakery located at 12 Bar Lev Street.

B”H
Do you know why the Hechsher was removed from Cafe Hillel.
I am just wondering why the Rabbanut or Beit Yosef give out Hechsherim to chains where some branches are not kosher at all.
e.g. Cafe Hillel in Tel Aviv / Rothschild Boulevard is open on Shabbat.
The AROMA branches in Tel Aviv are not kosher but only the one in Shenkin Street.
