Last week I released a news item regarding a Rabbanut decision to remove the hechsher from Hebron Winery. Badatz Belz Machzikei Hadas did not remove its hechsher.
By the way, the article resulted in many emails questioning “how can this be”. I am a conduit for information, not a decision-maker. I presented facts, the letter signed by Rav Dov Lior Shlita, and the statements made by R’ Hoffman of Belz. One must make one’s own decision as far as understanding the obvious contradiction surrounding the matter.
The point here is I wish to stress here is that there is another company called Hevron Hills/Mt. Hevron Wines, which produces a line of higher-end wines. This company has a hechsher from the OU and R’ Machpud Badatz Yoreh Deah, a different company, not impacted by last week’s chain of events.
