Kashrus Brief - May 20, 2009 - 26 Iyar 2769

Update on SuperSol Deal Givat Shaul
A positive update on the May 13th report regarding SuperSol Deal in Givat Shaul.

The store now has a kashrut certificate from Belz Machzikei Hadas but please, take notice, the supervision is only for the items listed on the certificate in red.
I spoke with the folks at Belz, as well as the rav who signed the certificate, Rabbi Moshe Dovid Hoffman and confirmed that it is legitimate.
Rabbi Hoffman stressed two points;
1. The supervision is on the items listed only
2. Supervision does not take the place of checking and cleaning for bugs where appropriate.
The same holds true for the SuperSol Deal branch located on Pierre Koenig Street in the Talpiot area of Jerusalem. (see photos of both certificates)

Yehuda Chamutzim – Shuk Machane Yehuda
Our good friend Yehuda Ochana has been closed for the last two days. According to a TV news report, he was arrested in connection to his fraudulent affairs and apparently, he and a worker tried bribing some of the officials, albeit, without success.

Follow the link to the previous article on the store is you are new to the list http://www.jerusalemkoshernews.com/2009/05/machane-yehuda-yehuda-chamutzim-nabbed/
